Hello dear Makena, I'm a new subscriber here. The way you look at the camera, the way you speak, what you eat, what you wear, what and how you create, it is simply hypnotizing and beautiful to me. I feel like I've known you forever. Who you are, or who you seem to be, it really shows on the few videos that I've seen, which is 3. It is so interesting to see you do art and the way you live your life. We have similar values and I really appreciate this in someone. Most comments seem to point out that if we've been following you for a while we've known or have a very good idea of who you are, but I've seen into your soul right away, and I'm in love with what I saw. Any time we show a part of ourselves to people, we're bound to receive criticism, good or bad, no matter how pure we might sound or what intentions we have. We simply can't please everyone and it's always a matter of whether we are okay potentially receiving this criticism or if we would rather just not have this feedback when we expose ourselves. I think what's most important here is to simply stay true to yourself. Remember that no one knows how to take care of you like yourself. I sometimes have those insecurities, but doubting oneself or dwelling too long over these things is what creates our barriers, and sometimes those barriers are not even helping our growth. But what do YOU want to do? Do you enjoy the unfiltered free talking without having to conceal your values, or would you prefer being on your guard a bit more not to give too much information about your life so that people find less ways to criticize? What makes YOU the happiest? For my part, I'll follow you for who you are. I hope we can stay in touch, I have a lot of admiration for you. Love, Alex

If you're so unsure sharing about being vegan, i say: don't. Let other people do the "converting" if they feel lead. Living a good life quietly is way more effective than teaching about it. When it comes to food, people have VERY STRONG OPINIONS. i was planning on being a nutritionist, but changed my mind , this was one reason. Also, another thing I've noticed about youtubers is, they are better off NOT sharing personal details until there is distance between themselves and whatever is going on. Whether a distance of time, or the distance of a change in circumstances. Things currently going on are best processed, mentally, emotionally before they are shared with community of followers .

I'm mainly plant based because i believe its healthier but i don't really talk about it because people don't get it and i don't care to explain it to them. I agree with the Vegan position but dont talk about it unless the subject comes up. IMO keep your channel neutral.

Please keep your channel a safe place for both you and your viewers. Why change that? I have no clue why UA-cam suggested your channel, but I am so happy to have found you. It's also a pleasure to see so many of your faithful viewers leaving such comforting and encouraging comments. It is ok to keep parts of your life private. That's only human. Continue to genuinely be YOU! It's why people keep coming back to view your videos and to support you. You make such a huge difference in so many people's lives it seems. Like a pebble thrown in the middle of a pond you really have no clue the thousands of people your ripples reach. People are going to hate, try to tear down your happiness, destroy the happiness you have found, and share it with all of us. Jealousy and opinions are toxic. Be you, be genuine, and allow us to love the person you are without worrying about what the few might think. @marcniepold1930 Said it best: "anyone who has been following you for a while cannot help but recognise and appreciate your values and beliefs, that's why we keep following you..."

For me - please don’t change your videos. I like the way they are. There are so many vegan, political, fitness etc etc dedicated vlogs already. I like that there is no views posed on any one, and your vlogs are easy going and interesting. Being on UA-cam etc doesn’t mean you have to have everything out in the open, you can have privacy.

No end to your talents. It is always a joy to see what you are up to.

Dear Marina I have watched and enjoying your videos from Pam in the Van and always thought that you are a competent and capable person. Very independent and I am sure that you have strong views however I understand that someone people are always ready to criticise almost just for the sake of it. Pointless. With all the conflicts I have stopped listening to the news. I am very interested in your vegan diet and your food looks amazing and would like to know more. My step daughter is encouraging me to improve my diet; still eating fish and meat. For the future of the planet we need to be more vegetarian. Your bike looks like a Himalayan used by Itchy Boots and she does express any opinions; there again she is very strong. Making your own underwear is interesting and personal. Difficult to know what is best. I like you as you are. Best wishes Rodney.

A few moments that I found particularly evocative from an emotional point of view: this passage where you watch the leaves of the trees dancing in the wind at 13:31; and again at 19:22, you stop playing, the wind is blowing in the background, you cuddling the dog. By mental association it reminded me of the scene in the wind in Tarkovsky's film "The Mirror". Or the ending of the encounter between the protagonist and the girl he is in love with in Nuri Bilge Ceylan's "The Wild Pear Tree".

Your channel has been so pleasant up to now. In these times of social media being a place where some folks who struggle with self-control and are braver behind the screen, why risk and open yourself up to their foolishness. Keep creating interesting, inspiring, creative videos and leave political/social, etc. discussions with those you know and /or trust with your opinion...or at the ballot box (imo).

I have been sub'd to your channel for years. I have gathered that you're vegan. I really couldn't care less. If anything I think the only reason i still follow you and your journey is that you're not a militant vegan. What some people need to realise is that just because someone has a different opinion to you then it doesn't mean you're enemies. Life would be boring if we were all the same.

Dear Marina, as someone who has watched your videos since "Pam the Van" days knows your values and lifestyle choices are unique and true. For anyone who takes a moment to watch your content, it's obvious to see where your feelings lay. In my humble opinion, you don't have to justify or explain anything. Unfortunately we live in troubling times. Wars, climate change, politics and social media all have foreboding dark sky's on the horizon. Personally, I've always watched your content to see a strong, resourceful ( not to mention creative and hard working) woman who has ditched societal convention to live a life that is really hers. In the mega world of UA-cam , your videos have a beautiful signature. I like the music, the never ending projects, the focus on the small details and your love of dogs. My only bit of advise is to keep this channel as you have been doing. I think for many of us it's an escape from the day to day hardships people face. You are a passionate person, let your opinions and feeling be know, but perhaps create another channel to do so. The world, media and politics have become so polarized that we seek, I seek content that just shares your unique journey. PLUS ... as a lifelong motorcyclist, I know the pain and conflict of should I sell or keep a certain special bike. Bottom line for me, if it's not being used ...time to sell. There will always be a good deal on another bike somewhere if and when you decide to do more riding. Maurice

Honey, keep it neutral. I think it’s already somewhat obvious what your political views are. We get a glimpse into how you live your live and really that’s all anyone needs. Except for close personal family and friends. No one else matters. Plus why stress yourself even more with people’s negative comments. People you don’t even know at that. I’ve been watching you for a while now and I love your content. it’s very positive and inspiring. It brings a little peace to my day and I’m grateful for that. Thank you.

Your values are yours and the fact that you have a utube channel does not mean we need to know “everything” you value or not, only what you feel comfortable about. Regarding the bike, we’ll we just got rid of ours after a decade of riding, we don’t use them to justify having them, we have a car and an e-bike so enough to get around. We would love though to see you with your new dog go on short trips in the van, starting with a day trip to the lake?….( once his ear infection is fully healed of course and checking first with the vet.)

Have you thought about getting yourself a hand cutting wheel. I love mine, and wish I got it sooner. It's so much quicker and no pinning and no movement of the fabric while cutting with scissors. Just a thought. ☺️ I'm very curious about your underwear pattern now, as I sew many things. What a great idea!! I understand how you feel about sharing your life choices. I think it's important to remember that this is your channel and we are here because we enjoy YOU. You make a difference , just by being here. ❤

100% agree! But you are so right about that we have to share our opinion- even so if some will bark and bite- people will say what they wanna say, but it doesn’t change anything about what you value and what kind of person you are, but at least it helps to strengthen the chain with a similar mindset people, so if you found at least a few that on your side- your side won🎉 everyone has right to say what he wants to say- others can agree, disagree, or don’t care, but the healthy reaction is respect of the others opinion. Your may believe that the earth is round, but I say it’s flat- and that’s my freedom do do so😂, as long as I’m not taking the gun to prove my point. Blessings! P.S. about ant milk farms- they been obsessed all my roses- I sprinkled the soil and the stems and all around with diatomaceous earth ( it’s absolutely safe for humans and pets, you can actually eat that), bût little insects hate it- the small parts get into them and kills them. That actually helped!! Really quickly disappeared! And add some hot chilli and or garlic to your soap water spray for aphids))

I really understand your concerns. I watch in my mother tongue German some UA-cam woman who share their opinion more loudly and they all go to therapy to deal with the backlash they get online. It is tough. But to tell my opinion: I love the way your videos are right now. And you inspire me. I clearly see that you're prefer to enjoy life and DYI than become rich. For my mental health this point of view is really calming in a world everyone just buys what they need and you sit down and just sew it yourself. Your videos show me again what's the enjoyable side of life: nature, animals, plant base food, doing things with your hand and be proud of the result, even if it's not perfect. In the hustle of everyday life I tend to loose to see why life is enjoyable and your well shot videos with nature and calm time doing funny stuff, it inspires me. Also at an end note: I realized a long time ago that your at least vegetarian, maybe vegan 😂❤

As a fellow vegan I can imagine how you feel about staying quiet about veganism. In one hand I really feel like I should speak up for the animals, on the other hand I know people will get deffencive and attack. I often stay silent when I feel should have spoken up. no, don't get in any way ,political, and dont even get close to it. You will make only 50% of your viewers happy, the other 50% you will lose them , forever. Besides, nobody is interested in your views of the wild world, they are watching you because of your small world.
